Kurz gesagt
- One QR code per event is enough. Make it big and put it at eye level.
- Add one line that tells guests what happens when they scan.
- Check the list between tracks, not in the middle of a mix.
QR code song requests work because they ask very little of the guest. Phones already have a camera, the page opens in a second, and nobody has to find the DJ in the crowd. The setup is the part that decides whether anyone scans.
Create the event page first
Each event gets its own page and its own code, so requests from tonight do not mix with last week. Name the event the way guests would say it, such as the venue or the occasion. That name is what they see when the page opens.
Print the code large
A code that is too small will not scan from a metre away in a dark room. Aim for a sign at least the size of an A5 sheet, with high contrast and a clean white margin around the code.
- Black code on white is the safest
- Keep a quiet margin of about one code module on every side
- Test the printed sign with two different phones before the gig
Tell guests what they get
Add a short line above the code: Request a song. That is enough. If you take tips, add a second short line. Guests scan when they know the result is quick and simple.
Put it where people wait
The best spots are the bar, the entrance, the table edges and next to the booth. Avoid places where people stand with their backs to the sign. A screen behind you can show the same code for a big room.
Read the live list
Open your dashboard on a laptop or phone near the decks. New requests appear as they are sent. Look at the list while a track plays, pick what fits, and let the rest go.

What size should the QR code be?
As large as practical. A sign of A5 or bigger works for most rooms. Always test it in the real lighting before the event.
Can I use the same QR code for every event?
Each event has its own page and code, which keeps requests separate. Your profile page also has a permanent link.
